Stockholm’s indie pop artisan waterbaby breaks her silence with “Amiss,” her first musical offering since the 2023 EP “Foam.”

“Amiss” shows a subtle evolution in waterbaby’s universe, where her signature R&B-influenced indie pop now makes room for orchestral elements. The track opens deceptively simple – just acoustic guitar, cello, and her deliberately muffled vocals creating an intimate atmosphere. But patience rewards the listener when the composition blossoms into something grander as the vocal effects fall away, revealing the pure emotion underneath.

The creative triumvirate behind this track includes waterbaby herself alongside collaborators Marcus White and Anton Fernandez. White and Fernandez handled production duties, with White taking charge of the mixing process.

This release marks waterbaby’s first musical statement of 2025, arriving today (May 8th) via Sub Pop Records, which also released her debut EP.
